Having had the good fortune to meet several of the d’Ornano family members over the years, who still own and run Sisley, I’ve witnessed how stylish they are, so none of this surprises me.īut if those are the things that hook me in – the “style”, if you like – it’s the substance beneath that keeps me interested. And then, of course, there’s the packaging, that timeless square-shaped “S” – it’s actually quite ’70s, that’s what makes it so cool. Then there’s the unique smell: aromatic, contemporary and very fresh – a clue to the active plant extracts that have always been so key to its performance and also a nod to the house’s famous fragrances (if you haven’t tried Eau de Campagne yet, it’s an absolute classic, created by master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena in 1976, Sisley’s first year).

It’s the texture that lures me in first, a cream so smooth it is just the right weight for my skin, soft to the touch before sinking straight in. And Sisley Paris’s Sisleÿa’s L’Integral Anti-Age moisturiser is one I always use until the pot runs dry. When you’re sent as many beauty products to try as I am, you quickly notice the ones you’re loyal to, that you return to time after time.
